Episode #28 – I Hope You’re Not Lactose Intolerant

OMG we finally each have a legendary. Okay, fine, everybody else in the ENTIRE UNIVERSE already has one…but we finally got one. And they’re good ones! Wow! We also talk about other stuff, and I am so sorry about Ouro.

Episode #27 – ELVES, Mr. Frodo!

Elves! They’re everywhere! Ever wonder where they all come from? WONDER NO MORE. We will tell you! High elves! Low elves! Keebler elves! They’re all here. Well, not really, but we’ve done some pretty exhaustive research.

Episode #25 – The Care and Feeding of Armorkinis

Sorry that we haven’t been around – flu sucks. Our lore reporters are hard at work on their next segment, but this week, Ouro and I decided to talk about transmog in general and armorkinis in particular. Are they politically correct? Should anyone care? Why do we wear the armor we (sometimes barely) wear? Is one of us on a list somewhere?

Episode #24 – Cool Dan, The Man Without a Clan

Today we’ve given our lore reporters the week off and we’re taking it upon ourselves to discuss the lore of that crazy guy Gul’Dan…both the original one from our timeline and the Extra Crispy version from the Warlords of Draenor universe. Spoilers: they both end up dead.

Episode #23 – Jaina Is Still a Dreadlord

In this episode, our lore reporter, Lauren Yorel, cracks the Aegwynn code, and we talk about legacy servers (again), patch 7.1.5, and Nighthold…and ask WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH JAINA? Also, Wrathion.

Am I the only one who thinks Archimonde is hot?

Episode #22 – Now With More Stuff!

So we took a long Winter’s nap, but we’re back! And we have more stuff! There’s background music and a BRAND NEW LORE SEGMENT! Let us know what you think! Tweet to @lisiaraids or send email to show at raidingwithlisia dot com!

Today we’re talking mostly about Alcaz island and its denizens and lore. We also talk a bit about the Diablo 20th anniversary event and the upcoming patch 7.1.5!

Episode #21 – Legacy Servers

In June, Blizzard shut down the Nostalrius legacy servers. In November, Nostalrius decided they’d waited long enough and decided to come back in a big way.

Nostalrius’ announcement: http://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=44550

“The source code will be first given to an existing Legacy project which we believe to be the most in line with our core values, named Elysium. This server shares the volunteer spirit and passion for the game we had. Furthermore, an important part of Nostalrius volunteers are already working there, some under different names. We wish them all the best, and hope that they will become a new home for the reunited Vanilla community. We will continue collaborating closely with them. This collaboration could include additional “things” to share with them if necessary to achieve this goal. In exchange, this server promised to not receive any profit from this activity. They will also have to create the documentation required to install, understand and use the work we did. “

After that, Viper says, they will release the source code to the public.

Episode #18 – Keeping up with the Falcosauruses

Hey guess what! Ouro and I have been married TEN WHOLE YEARS! And we’re still madly in love! Cue the mooshy stuff!

Check out Scott Johnson’s interview with Chris Metzen. I promise you will not regret it. Although it brought me to tears, I really enjoyed listening to it, and I can’t recommend it enough.

Episode #17 – Now With More BlizzCon!

Hi! We pushed the show to Monday so that we’d have time to catch up on all the cool WoW-related BlizzCon streams (because we had a really busy weekend). So here’s your show – now with more BlizzCon!

Episode #16 – Rock Me Falcosaurus

Falcosauruses everywhere! Ouro and Lisia talk about the new pets and mounts, grouse abou PvP, Lisia whines about how she never has time to play…it’s life, really!

Okay, so Lisia’s Dark Ranger’s outfit:

Basically, once the new transmog system went into effect, I realized I had this chest. Dark Rangers appear to be wearing leather, and this is one of the few mail pieces that actually looks like that dark leather. (I haven’t found any others.) The other pieces were chosen to kind of pick up the dark reddish brown accents in the chest piece; if you have other stuff you prefer, by all means use it. The bow model I used was the Windrunner’s Bow but there are a lot of other models that would also look good, plus this version of Thas’dorah.

Episode #15 – The Way of the Arc

So Lisia is still struggling along at iLvl minus nothing, but Ouro got to do Mythics with our guild this weekend! OMG the ranting! The raving! The tearing of hair. Lisia’s glad she was just killin’ shit in Stormheim.

And what’s all that shit on Alcaz Islands? HUNTERS WANNA KNOW

Episode #14 – Poor Illidan

Poor Illidan! He didn’t fare so well at the Black Temple, did he? I guess HE WAS NOT PREPARED. We talk about that and more, including:

  • Blizzard’s doing well! Except we’re not supposed to know that?
  • Who’s NOT excited about 7.1? NOBODY
  • Why you might not have gotten the “Patron of War” title despite doing everything “right”, what we found out about that, and what we think about it
  • Ouro still has money to give away! Just because it’s dirty money shouldn’t deter you.

Episode #13 – Lucky Thirteen

Are you superstitious? Hope not. Lisia and Ouro discuss actually raidig, gearing up, Lisia’s parents, Ouro’s surgery…yeah, everything. It’s always a barrel of fun when Lisia and Ouro get going!

Episode #12 – Out In The World

The addons Ouro was talking about are Wholly / Grail, Nomicakes, World Quest Tracker, Collectionshop, and Easy Obliterate. We use Curse and I think they’re all available there.

Ouro was also talking about a theory that N’Zoth is the real villain of this xpac. The thread he was referring to was on the Something Awful forums, but here’s the end of it:

*****

Conclusion: N’zoth is buried underneath the Tomb of Sargeras and the Pillars of Creation will free him
If you transpose N’zoth in the first map onto the post-Sundering map and then move him a bit to the right to account for the force of the blast, it puts him right on the Tomb of Sargeras. We know that Old God prison facilities can be used for other stuff and have unknowing inhabitants move in above them, because that happened to literally every single Old God prison we found. N’zoth lives in a sunken city. The Tomb of Sargeras comes from a famously sunken island which had to be pulled up to the surface, and even then only partially.

Why is N’zoth trying to steal Pillars when doing so aids the Legion? Because he wants them for the same reason we do. He wants to bring them to the Tomb of Sargeras and use them to activate the key that Khadgar noticed, the key that will destroy the portal. Why does he want to do that? Because turning that key opens his jail and sets him free.

N’zoth got his tentacles into the Legion somehow (Archimonde had at least a droplet of corruption) and has engineered this entire invasion. He’s played us and the Legion magnificently against each other and put both sides into checkmate. If N’zoth gets the Pillars of Creation, N’zoth wins. If the Legion wins, Azeroth gets re-originated, and N’zoth has completely corrupted the Emerald Dream (and note that he didn’t do so until the Legion invaded, because if he acted beforehand we’d have been able to deal with that instead of having to desperately try to stave off total conquest), so N’zoth wins. If we win, we set N’zoth free, so N’zoth wins. Every outcome ends in “N’zoth wins”.

And why tell us? Because it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t. Even knowing what it’ll do, we don’t have a choice any more, do we? If that portal doesn’t get closed, the Legion will eventually wear us down through attrition. We’ll bring the Pillars to the Tomb of Sargeras, and stop the Legion, because the Legion has to be stopped or nothing else matters.

And then N’zoth wins.

Episode #11 – Turned Up To Eleven

Here we are at Episode 11. Ouro and I are almost ready to raid…I think…maybe? Well soon anyway! Very excited.

In the middle I sort of pause to rant about Impostor Syndrome and how it’s affecting my feelings about all the awesome content in this xpac. I also talk a little bit about misogyny. If you’ve ever been affected by either or those, or have anything to say on the subject, please email us (mp3’s are fine) at show at raidingwithlisia dot com! Tweets to @lisiaraids are also welcome and we’ll read them on the show along with non-sound emails.

Episode #10 – Perfect 10

ZOMG, Legion is way too much fun! In the past week we’ve gotten our pallies up to 107, plus Lisia’s at 103, thanks in part to the fabulous mobile app. I’ve also started on my feral druid, and Ouro and I have gotten our first artifacts on our mages.

Seriously, if you don’t have the mobile app but you have an iPhone or Android, GET IT. It will make your life so much easier to not have to log in to recruit or start and complete missions.

Episode #9 – Legionnaires

Oh my stars and garters. First of all, sorry there was no show last week. I was super tired and frankly just trying to level the hell out of one of my lowbie alts along with Ouro so we’d have Yet Another Toon to run through Legion. Like I needed more alts.

But here we are now, and Legion is OUT in all its glory! Unfortunately, having to work and all, I am probably behind every single person in the universe in terms of leveling. But that doesn’t prevent us from talking about it!
